A family of sorts
Who ever would have thought that a little coffee shop could produce some of the dearest people to my heart? Not I. I've been at my job for almost three years. I thought it was going to be like any other job where I worked there, got bored and moved on. In the beginning it was very much like that. I didn't connect with any of the workers and the ones that I did like, I ended up connecting with later. However, once the main clique of the store moved on, a family unit began forming. From that point on, our store has only accumulated family members. It has gone beyond if you work there, it's if you used to work there, if you're dating someone that works there, if you are a friend of someone that works there, and, of course, if you are a pet of someone who works there, then, you are our family. Simple as that. The two ladies sitting front and center of the picture I can easily say have become two of my best friends and everyone behind them has become my brother or sister, excluding the man to the far right, he transcends all the labels.
Lina recently threw a housewarming barbecue. It was a night of laughing, excessive eating, drinking, ping ponging, cooking, gaming, smore making and feeling all the feels because for once, there is a large group of people I feel completely myself around. Here is to families. Wherever they are formed.
