I haven't done a photo diary type entry in a while so, let's start off with this: I saw arcade fire last night. Holy shit. I have been a fan of them since I was about 16. I believe "crown of love" was one of their first songs I heard (which they played last night, I had a moment). But became a fan after I heard "Neighborhood #1(Tunnels)" it was so romantic and majestic to me. It still is. The show was perfect. The visuals, the vibes, the effortless performance, my best friend and my lover. Everything was in its place. It's one of those things that happens where I can't go into too much detail because it was such a visceral experience. It ignited my radical self again, especially when they played "intervention" I lost it. I just, lost it. They ended it with "Sprawl II" which I swear could have been written about Irvine. "They heard me singing and they told me to stop, quit these pretentious things and just punch the clock. These days my life, it feels it has no purpose. But late at night the feelings swim to the surface. Cause on the surface, the city lights shine, they're calling at me, 'come and find your kind' Sometimes I wonder if the world's so small. That we can never get away from the sprawl. Living in the sprawl. Dead shopping malls rise, like mountains beyond mountains and there's no end in sight" That song will forever resonate with me while living in Orange County. Anyway. I've planned a trip to Portland with Ali and smaller trips are being planned. Beyond the fact that I'll see Andrew Bird and Devendra Banhart in about a month and a half. I will also be starting a graphic design class, as well. This will work in the mean time. I just need to keep making plans. I will leave soon. But for now, adventures.
