Portland: Lover's Edition.

I recently went on a three-day adventure to Portland with Ali. He had never been and if you know me you will know that Portland tends to be the topic of conversation + reference at least once a day. It's a city of inspiration, nature, and simplicity. I couldn't wait for him to experience it, and I couldn't wait to experience a city I knew well through his eyes. It was like going there for the first time again, the excitement is unexplainable. I could write long excerpts of our trip in detail, but I think photos will speak volumes of our time together. I cherished our quiet nights in our small nest of a room that was nestled in the heart of the city. Our nights consisted of drinking beer, Ali watching basketball while I lay on his chest reading a book, it was effortless, and possibly some of my favorite moments from our trip. It was us snuggled in a city that made me feel alive, there are no other words to describe it. It was cut too short, but I am thankful I was able to experience it at all. Here are some photos of a 72-hour adventure with the love of my lifetime.

We wore these every night when we came home. Luxury at its finest. There is no shame in the robe game.

A casual sighting amongst the busy downtown streets.

I tried to kick him out. He plays back. I love this man.

First bloody Mary experience. He was less than thrilled, but when in Portland...

We had another flight accompany this one, 12 glasses of beer. We filled half the table. We left the place with light hearts and warmth in our cheeks. Deschutes you did us good!

Boxer Ramen. Coconut curry, the only option for this veg-head.

Look up! A bus stop. Nature's mosaic.

Little Big Burger. Ali's favorite meal in the city. Can't say he's the first one to lust over the perfection of the tiniest burger in town!

The only photo I have in Portland. Looking up at Ali as we waited for our bus.

Heart Coffee. The morning we left. Mine as well go to a romantically named coffee shop to slurp up our sentiments before returning back to reality.

Along the brick building. When modern meets the past.

Just before leaving. Ali laying in our nest before we said goodbye. The smallest room that provided us comfort and warmth, as if we had a place of our own.

Waiting for the MAX, having shoes that look almost the same.

Waiting for our last Portland coffee. Probably my favorite photo of this man. He isn't looking at the camera, but at me, looking happy. I loved seeing him in Portland.

Most importantly, this picture. This was obviously a chance photo and let me tell you I shed many tears over this. WHY DOES HE LOOK SO AGGRESSIVE? Seriously. Half-human, half-lizard. Unnecessary and excessive.
