three

three has always been a lovely number to me
the idea of coupling in even numbers seemed very exclusive
but the odd formation of three always led one to individuality
i am a child of three
i've always loved having two siblings
it was like the necessary balance of a teeter tot
one sibling was always neutral while the other two were perfectly happy
or perfectly annoyed.
i was born on twenty-three which adds to another personal affection
to the tone that three brings
so hitting three with the one i love seemed a bit more special
it was like we fought and pushed through the first two years
and now we're in the real playing field of life together
properly partners
properly having talks about disagreements
properly loving one another
yesterday was three
and i'll continue counting the threes
because there are multiple trilogies to come
